…about our new lil’ walker

I can’t believe it’s been two months since I did an update on Olivia. It is true what they say, the days are long but the years are short.

Liv is still on the struggle bus for taking fluids in on her own, so we are still doing a bottle when she sleeps, which is harder throughout the day. And she won’t really take bottle in the middle of the night anymore, which limits us and makes it more difficult to keep her hydrated and make sure she is getting the calories she needs to keep growing. We just keep praying that it clicks that she realizes she is thirsty and should drink. She is doing OK with solids. But like most toddlers, each meal and day is different. We did meet with a different speech therapist because at this point we will take all the help we can get and she is of the mind that if Liv will eat more than that will help with hydration. So, we are probably going to start having speech twice a month to try and help Livy any way we can.

PT/Child Development: We are still having regular appointments, every other week with them. They are loving Olivia’s progress. It’s like she went from 0-60. We are working on walking on different textures, walking over things, and steps. For child development working on words, puzzles, recognizing things in books, and doing pretend play.

We had our twice a year appt with Pulmonology. The doctor said Liv’s lungs are doing well. So that is nice to not have to worry in that department so far.

Upcoming appointments in June: Outpatient Pulmonology, High Risk, Speech, and PT/Child Development.

Beyond all the medical stuff we have to do for Liv, she is the best part of us. It is hard not to smile when we look at her. Even when she says, “No, no, no,” while wagging her finger. Or tosses her whole meal onto the floor…AGAIN. She is the best and brings joy to everyone she comes into contact with. She’s our sweet lil’ Livy.
