…about the Giving Keys

Hey Ya’ll…I have been chomping at the bit with lots of things to blog about. I am almost caught up on my DVR, and  am now making time to write a few things I have wanted to share with you.

Last year I went to a concert in Austin at Stubbs. The artists were Matt Hires, Jason Castro, and Caitlin Crosby. I have never heard of Crosby until that evening and quickly became a fan. I loved her honesty, not only in her music, but also in her conversation with the crowd. Her message was very encouraging to women, especially young girls. And having worked with students I wanted to share her message with them all.

She has a website “LoveYourFlawz” that everyone should go to. Here is a video that explains the site.

Another thing Crosby has started is a nonprofit called “The Giving Keys.” It is a necklace or a bracelet that is custom-made. It has a key on it, and you are able to choose what you want to say on it. Here is a video explaining the details.

I have made 2 keys so far. Both for friends of mine. I have yet to post my story up on the site, but will eventually. This is an amazing ways to encourage not only our loved ones, but anyone we come into contact with. It is a great gift idea as well. So, get on it and start giving.

If you are into female singer/songwriters I would urge you to check out Caitlin Crosby. She also acts, and you can check her out on MTV’s “The Hard Times of RJ Berger.”

If you look into and/or participate in anything I have mentioned on here, I would love to hear your story and what you think.

Until next time…PEACE OUT!
