OK, OK…it’s been a long time. I know. I just have not been in the blogging mood and I have also had company in an out for the last week. So I am finally sitting down to fill you in on another great night in Austin I had about 2 weeks ago.
I got the privilege of going to see Gavin DeGraw with my friend Jen.
The cool connection we had with this concert is the girl that opened up for Gavin was named Angel Taylor. She is really good you should check her out. She is like Adele style. Her new album is coming out soon. Anyways, Jen’s cousin from Cali, that’s where is Angel is from, is good friends with her and so she flew out with Angel to go to the the Texas shows she was doing. At the end of Angel’s set we got to meet her and talk with her. She is really sweet. Like I said, you should check her out. She was the free itunes download a couple weeks ago.
The show was at this bar called The Parish on 6th street. Great venue. While we were hanging out waiting for Gavin I see this guy hanging out at the bar. He looked so familiar to me, but I couldn’t figure out who he was. I knew he was famous, but not like celeb, celeb. Jen had no idea. He passed by me to go to the bathroom and I turned to Jen and was like “It’s Killing Me!” Then these girls behind me saw and overheard me. They said to us “Isn’t that the Olympic swimmer?” And then the light bulb went on! Yes it was! It was my summer crush from the Olympics! Haha, but I could not remember what his name was, some crush, huh…So what do I do? What I always do with a question like this…text Joe and tell him to name Olympic swimmers. And he came through. It was Aaron Peirsol.
He was there with a girl. Looked like he was having a good time. Every time he would pass by I would kind of lean in his direction so he would have to brush past me, haha. I’m lame, I know. Anyways, so I guess he trains at UT, pretty cool.
Gavin was amazing. I am an even bigger fan after seeing him live. And if you haven’t heard his new CD it is really good. I think it is my favorite one. Alright. I am off to Pei Wei now, Jenna is in town! Yay! We are going to downtown tonight, so I’m sure I will have more stories to share with you. And I will try to not wait so long to do another post.
