…about Project Runway 8/06

Always a bridesmaid…what a wonderful challenge. I know there are plenty of ladies out there, that would love to have a designer reinvent their dresses. But I did feel bad for the designers. The fabric they were forced to work with. HORRIBLE. Definitely not the easiest or most flattering.

Let’s get some of the drama out-of-the-way. If one of my favorites Michael C really said something about Ivy, I would be really disappointed. But here is my thought. If he really did talk smack about her to people, I feel like the camera would have gotten it on tape and Lifetime would have shown us to make better TV. It would make Michael look like a jerk. But they didn’t. And when he talked to Ivy, he said she could talk to his model. What would his model have to lie about? She is only there for one more day. My conclusion: he did not say anything and I think I know who started that rumor…

Gretchen. I like how they showed her skyping with her mom to make her appear not as bossy as we thought she was. But that won’t fool me. Tim Gunn doesn’t just say things like he did the last week.

OK…let’s move onto the looks.

Michael D’s dress had a semi-cute shape, but the fabric overlaid on top of it was not flattering. And where he stopped it, right before the strap, it looked like it wasn’t finished and made it look even more cheap…Sorry.

Valerie’s was a train wreck. I usually like her garments, but it was way too strapy (I made up my own word) and that bow in the front was horrible. I am not a big bow person. I couldn’t get passed it.

I will admit that I do not like Gretchen’s personality, but for the most part I have liked her fashion. This week…not so much. The skirt looked like such a weird fit. And the models breasts had a little too much air time on the sides for my liking.

Andy’s look with the shorts was really cute. I could see a lot of women wearing that. It was a great idea to dye the fabric. Why didn’t more people do that. Brilliant.

Because I am a little more on the conservative side, Christopher’s dress was cute up till the very top. It looked to me like part of the dress was missing and her bra was exposed. But everyone else liked it, so what do I know.

What I am about to say is going to be pretty shocking, so you may want to sit down and prepare yourself. I liked Casanova’s 2 weeks in a row. I think he is growing on me. Who am I?!

Yay for April! I finally really liked one of her looks. Her dress turned out really well. I’m glad she held her ground. She kept her design in it. She didn’t give in and do everything that her model wanted. It would have been a disaster and horrible if she went home for something she didn’t think was her. Side note: No more zippers. I think April has done a zipper on every garment she has made.

More hilarity with everyone hating on Michael C…he comes out with the win again. I liked his dress, it wasn’t my favorite look, but it would have been in my top 3. It definitely made for great TV with all the tension in the room when he won. I wonder if it was as bad as they made it out to be. Probably not.

My poor Peach! What was she thinking? I am sad to see her go, but she should have been the one to go. It was sweet to see how much everyone really liked having her around. Oh sweet Mondo, don’t cry.

Until next time…PEACE OUT!

PS As a tribute to my dear Peach, here are my three favorite lines of the night from her:

1. Peach Panic

2. Sell Ice in Iceland

3. Quoted from Tim Gunn “More legs than a bucket of chicken!”
