OK, everyone! Sorry that I have not written in a few days, but I really did not have anything to blog about. Although I could have done one about the Grammy’s, but that’s all old news now, so I will not bore you with my opinions. And I could talk about American Idol and how there are quite a few people I am very disappointed didn’t go through, and thoroughly upset about some who did. But I don’t want to dwell on that either. What I do want to talk about is one reason why I was excited to move to Austin…South by Southwest.
For those of you who do not know what this is, it is a festival that covers interactive, film, and music. For me, not so excited about interactive. The film should be pretty cool, but the most exciting part is the music! Most of you know that I am a music lover. I have around 4,600 songs on my ipod and I love going to live shows. This festival is not at a huge park, but it is all over downtown, mostly 6th street. There will be live acts going non-stop in every bar/club. I can hardly contain my excitement.
So I just recently finally went through all the bands/artist that are going to be here. If you want to check out out you can go here: http://sxsw.com/music/shows/bands. When going through the list I found 19 bands/artists that I am psyched to see! And that does not even count new artists that I am going to check out. Here are the one’s I am thrilled to see: Andrew Bird, Bowling for Soup, Castledoor, The Decemberists, Glasvegas, Ben Harper, HoneyHoney, Lil Jon, Marcy Playground, Angie Mattson, Erin mccarly, Tom morello, Oak ridge boys, Katy perry, Pigeon john, The republic of tigers, Third eye blind, Brooke Waggoner, Tyrone wells. As you can see I have a very eclectic taste of music.
And to make this week even more sweet, so far I have three friends who are coming out to hang out with me and hopefully go to the shows as well. So a quick shout out to Ka-ryn, Ashley, and Nick (still feels weird to call you that Sharps).Can’t wait to see you guys!
