Last night, for some reason, when I was falling asleep, my mind began to wander and went back to the early days of my childhood. In the 80’s Disney would play a short movie every Sunday night. It was one of the highlights of my week. As soon as I heard this intro. I was on my butt, on the floor, front and center awaiting the magical world of Disney.
There are 2 movies that stand out when I think back to those days. The first one that came to mind last night is the movie, Mr. Boogedy. I loved this movie! Even though it freaked me out a little as a kid, it was still one of my favorites. My parents even recorded it on a VHS for me, so I could watch it whenever I wanted to. It’s the story of a family moving to a new house, but are only informed of the houses tragic history after they arrive to move in. To sum it up without going on and on about it, the house is haunted, there is an eerie room that has a blue light, they find green gooey footprints on the walls, the devil steals souls in exchange for a magical cloak, and there is a little kid ghost that wants help (way before 6th sense). What more could you ask for? Here is a short clip:
My second favorite movie (actually it was originally a pilot episode for a new show…I would have loved it!) they showed, and I of course had it recorded on VHS, was called Fuzzbucket. It’s the story of a boy who has an imaginary friend, except he ends up being this real creature, but no one else can see him and no one believes him. To be able to see Fuzzbucket the boy has to make this concoction of stuff in a blender and then the friend drinks it and it appears. Every little kid wanted this to happen to them! The clip I found is kind of long, but its the only one I could find where you can actually see Fuzzbucket coming out of invisibility. So enjoy!
Did any of you use to watch Disney’s Sunday Night movies and have any favorites? Do you remember these one’s? I would love to hear about it 🙂 Oh and if you know where I can get these on DVD that would be great! Thanks.
Until next time…PEACE OUT!
