…about my 27th Birthday!

It has finally come…I am officially 27. I am now in my late 20’s. How did this happen?

Some of you may want to know how I spent this special day:

1. I didn’t have to work, so I slept in until about 9:30 and stayed in bed till 10 🙂

2. I got a massage.

3. Had In & Out for lunch

4. Went and bought myself some new Nike workout shoes.

5. And then I finished up the day with a dinner with Bill Wagner, who is like a father to me. We went to Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks. I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now. I first heard about it from the show on Bravo “Flipping Out.” It was a great experience. It was a dark intimate setting. The chips and salsa were really good. The salsa was little spicy, so be careful for those of you who are sensitive to heat. I had a strawberry margarita…DELICIOUS. Possibly on of the best I’ve ever had. And then I ordered the ranchero burrito with chicken. It was mouth-watering. Would definitely order all of it again. At the end I got serenaded for my birthday and was brought out some yummy flan with a flower. It was very sweet. I definitely recommend  this place. It was crowded, so be prepared to wait or go at off hours.

Now I sit here in my apartment writing to you. Earlier in the day I had thought I would post a blog about 27 things I have learned. Now that it is nearing bedtime I’m not sure I can accomplish 27. It may need to be continued, but here it goes:

1. I am loved. Birthdays really remind you of this. I am overwhelmed with all the well wishes from various modes of communication I have gotten today. And for everyone in norcal who celebrated my birthday with me. I am so blessed to have met each and every one of you. You have all played such a special role in my life and I thank you for that.

2. God is faithful. No matter what.

3. Change is good. I may be addicted to it. It’s something that I use to say I hated, but if you look at my life in the last 10 years, that is obviously not true. I have learned so much from each change and would not trade it for anything.

4. Family is muy importante. Being half way across the country showed me this even more. I never want to take them for granted.

5. Counseling is amazing. I think everyone should do it! I was going to write an article about it and submit it to Relevant Magazine and no joke, the next issue there was an article. A little too late, but nevertheless I fully promote it. It’s so nice to talk to someone who has no connection to anything in your life to share with and give you objective advice. Help you work through life.

6. Giving is great. Whether it be a gift or your time I have learned that most times you get more out of it than the person/people who you are giving to. Everyone benefits. Gift giving is one of my favorite things to do. I get so excited its hard not to spill the beans sometimes. Serving is another aspect that has been a part of my life. I am looking forward to some new opportunities in my future to serve. I’ll keep ya filled in.

7. Do not get into debt. It sucks. It hinders you from doing things. Instead of using that money to save up for something amazing, you are paying things off. Save yourself the headache. Get a credit card and don’t use it except for an emergency 🙂

Ok…I’m gonna stop right there. It’s bedtime. I will leave this with a “TO BE CONTINUED.” Until next time…PEACE OUT!
