I have been a returning resident of California for 11 days and counting. Let me start with returning back to Texas after Christmas.
Michael James, a friend of mine, he graduated with my sister and I treat him like my son, was my hero. He used his vacation time to fly back to Texas with me, pack up my apartment, drive halfway across the country back to California, and unpack my life again. He is AMAZING. And its his 21st birthday today, so a quick shout out to MJ, hope you have a wonderful day and you don’t drink so much that you don’t remember it. Next time I see ya I’ll buy you a drink… your dinner. I owe you a lot.
My cousin Lisa, who I have had the wonderful chance to get to know better and form a friendship with, came down to help me pack up my apartment. I would like to send a special thanks to her. I miss you and the kids already.
The same evening I packed everything up and my last night in Texas, the Gundelach’s had a special dinner for me with the Cagle’s. Cyndi made my favorite, shrimp scampi and then the many families that I have connected with closely for the two years I lived there, came over to wish me well. It was a very special night with tears and I thank all of you for everything you have done for me.
The next morning MJ and I headed out at an early start to our road trip. In one day we made it into Arizona. We made great time and drove for about 15hrs! That was the long day. Since we hauled butt the first day, we got into LA around 5PM on Friday. But I couldn’t move into my new place until Saturday.
Saturday I had the help of MJ and my friend David. They are both serious rock stars. I didn’t do so well planning out the last part of my move. David was able to get some dollies and we unpacked that truck in 4.5hrs. Seriously, awesome.
Then I had some help from my friend Ryan. I had an hour to return the moving truck or else I was going to have to keep it until Monday. I was able to drop it off and then Ryan left work (THANK YOU) to come pick me up, grab some food, and drop me back at my apartment before he had to drive to LAX to pick up his brother.
I got back to my apartment and felt extremely overwhelmed and exhausted, so I decided to leave the unpacking till the next day when my mom would be flying in. THANK GOD FOR MY MOM! She stayed until Thursday night to help me get my life in order. I would probably still be freaking out if it wasn’t for her.
A little info on my new place of residence. It is not the nicest place I have lived. Actually, it is probably the worst, and the most expensive. I’m not crying tears though because I knew by making the decision to move to LA this was going to happen. And I am OK with that. This is where I want to be. But what is nice is my proximity to many of my favorite places i.e.: 10 min from Dodger Stadium, 15 min. from Hollywood, 15 min. from The Grove, 20 from BHills, 30 to Santa Monica, and 45 to Disneyland.
I finally got TV and internet on Friday, so I am officially re-connected to the world. And I’m hoping to get back on a schedule of blogging regularly in-between searching for a job.
I am looking forward to re-connecting with lots of friends. In fact, I’m meeting my friend Naomi for dinner tonight, yay!
So be sure to check-in to get the latest of my new adventure in LA.
Until next time…PEACE OUT!

Your an amazing young lady. The kids adore you. It was great to be able to see you before making a new step in a brand new direction.
