…about the next chapter of my life

It’s been awhile. I could blame being busy, and I could admit to being lazy. But I think the biggest reason I haven’t blogged is because I haven’t been able to write about what has been on my mind. When there is one thing I want to share and express, but I can’t, it makes me not want to write at all. I have had to wait until the right time, and that time is now πŸ™‚

Through some prayer, many conversations with close friends and family, and lists of pros and cons, I have made the decision to move back to California. Β And I am content with this decision. Of course this doesn’t mean I’m not apprehensive at what challenges await me moving back to the golden state, which is not so golden in many important areas. What it does mean is I know this is what I am suppose to do.

I have loved Austin. This is an amazing city. I have explored so much, and made almost every person who came to visit fall in love with this city as well. How can you not love the weird, music loving, liberal, nicest people in the world? I have learned a lot about myself these last two years. I wouldn’t trade this time here for anything. I am definitely going to miss it. There are also some great people who I will be leaving behind. In honor of my love and respect for this amazing place I will be posting blogs until I move of my favorite things here in TEXAS πŸ™‚

Mount Bonnell

The biggest reason I am moving is my family. Only getting to see my mom in the flesh 4 times a year is not my ideal situation. And it is even less to see my sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. I have a large Italian family and who like to get together for any and every occasion. I have missed out on many of those. With that being said, I have also missed opportunities to be there for some tough times that my family has gone through. And I get upset every time something happens. I can’t live that way, so eventually I was going to move myself back to California.

SEESTERS

Where I am moving? Los Angeles. My zip code will hopefully be 90004, something I am working on and will update ya’ll when I have it all squared away. Why LA? Why not NorCal?

1. I AM A CITY GIRL! I have wanted to live in a city for so long. If New York was not on the other side of the country I would be there in a heart beat. I will be living as close to downtown LA as I can with the budget I have πŸ™‚ I am young and single, so the suburb life is just not cutting it anymore. And I cannot wait to use public transportation i.e. the metro!

2. Family. Let me elaborate some more. The drive from LA to Sac is not bad at all. What’s even better though is the flight. There are always $59 fares each way going on, which will cost me about 1/3 of what it costs me now to fly. It will also not take me almost a while day to travel. It’s a quick one hour trip, so going home for a weekend is not so crazy. Now, going home for a weekend is a waste. Which also means it will be a lot easier for most of my family to come and see me more often.

3. Dodgers. I know, the Giants won the World Series, but I have and will forever bleed Dodger Blue. I am looking forward to going to many games. And my possible new home is only 2.8 miles from the stadium!

Go Big Blue!

4. The coast. I love the beach. Not even so much to tan, but I really enjoy watching a beautiful sunset going down over the ocean, with the cool breeze, seeing the dolphins swimming, and reading a good book while listening to waves. Excited to be close to Santa Monica and a little drive down to Huntington.

5. DISNEYLAND! Seriously people! I will be an annual passholder in no time again! So plan your trips accordingly to come visit and go to the happiest place on earth. I have been told numerous times that I am a great tour guide and Disney is my favorite place to guide πŸ™‚ They should pay me, and maybe one day they will.

We're Professionals πŸ™‚

6. Mosaic. This is the church that I already know I am going to become a part of. I have visited it before and really liked it. Erwin McManus, who is the pastor is a great communicator. I have been listening to his podcasts for years and have read a couple of his books. I love the church’s vision and am excited to jump in! The campus I will be going to is at a club in downtown LA in the evenings, LOVE THAT!

7. I have some friends there already! While I am excited to meet new people and begin new friendships, I am excited to have some familiar faces around me which include: Ryan, David, The Simpson’s, and The Swertfeger’s.

So, that’s my big news! Many of you probably know already through the grapevine. If you haven’t, like I said, I’ve had to wait for the right time to be able to talk about it freely. Before I go I have two things to throw out there:

1. If you live in TX, and know anyone who wants to rent an apartment for 3.5 months or longer feel free to send them to me. They can check out my Craigslist ad here.

2. If you know anyone hiring in the LA area, let me know πŸ™‚ I am looking for a job.

Thank you to everyone who is reading this for your love and support through the many chapters of my life.

Until next time…PEACE OUT!
