…about Project Runway 8/08 & 8/09

Good day to you. I have some explaining to do. It has been two weeks since I have checked in. Let me give my excuses. The largest one: FALL TV IS BACK! I have now realized my TV addiction. I didn’t post last week because I waited so long, so I thought this week I would do a double post, which I am still going to do, but I had to wait a little to get this done. Thursday night my DVR did not record. My friend Steve and I have come to the conclusion that sometimes on U-VERSE they do not mark the show as new, so when I have the show set up to only record new shows, no re-runs, it of course doesn’t record. I didn’t have time to watch it online because after work on Friday I was off to a woman’s retreat with my church. And it re-aired on Lifetime last night, so I watched both shows Sunday afternoon and am now trying to get this post out as fast as I can, even if it is extremely late. So, enough with my excuses and explanation, let’s jump in:

Episode 8/08

I heart Jackie O. I have always been drawn to her. Which is why in 6th grade I chose her as a topic for a report. I was excited to see what the designers were going to come up with. As a whole, I was a little underwhelmed with. But there definitely was a stand out for me.

The trip to mood revealed something I never saw in the shop before. Where did that dog come from?

I have no idea what Andy was thinking. Those pants…where do I start? Jackie O would never be caught in those. Someone got a little too wrapped up in their own vision. A vision that Tim had lots of problems with, but Andy didn’t listen.

Speaking of Tim. Holy Moly! Another twist. I am coming to the conclusion there will be a twist for every challenge. Thank goodness it was not another team twist.

The looks:

Christopher: I thought his dress was beautiful. But when he had to make outer wear for it, there was nowhere to go, and it turned out horrible. But I’m glad most of the emphasis was on his dress.

April: I like how April is getting stronger. I did think her look was good, but maybe a little edgy for Jackie O.

Ivy: Her pants and her shirt were great. But when she added that organza wrap, it was horrible. Did not like the fabric and the cut was way off, which she admitted anyways.

Michael C.: I use to love him. He use to make lots of jokes. But not so much anymore. His personality is starting to get on my nerves, but I still like most of his designs. I liked his dress, but again the cover up was ugly. I don’t feel like it went with his dress at all.

Gretchen: I believe she fell to the same problems as Michael C, which she would hate that I said, but I don’t think her coat complimented her outfit at all.

Valerie: I actually liked her look, but the judges hated it and put it in the bottom three. I liked the pockets. Although I will agree with the judges. She keeps going back to the same tricks: zippers and pleating.

Michael D: I was very confused with his look, although I was pulling for him because I do enjoy his personality and what he brings to the show. Sad to see him go because I really thought Andy should go home. Especially since they were  harsh on Andy.

Mondo: Before we get to his actual look, let’s discuss his actual outfit. He always keeps me on my toes! He really made me think of Eddie Munster this week. Glad Heidi had a little laugh with him about it. The look he made was WONDERFUL! I loved it! My absolute favorite and I’m glad the judges thought so too. It didn’t hurt that it was partly purple. So glad he won!

Quote of the week: Christopher to Mondo: “You look like Jackie O.” Not funny when just reading it, but if you were watching it, it was hilarious.

Episode  8/09

Answer to the dog at mood. He is the shop’s dog and his name is Swatch. Like a swatch of fabric. So cute! Love it.

Let’s talk again about Mondo’s outfit. What he himself is wearing. He looks like he is a 10-year-old girl. He’s got yellow boots, with short jean short and this little sweatshirt. His sense of personal style is all over the place.

Out of all the seasons of Project Runway, I think this is the season that has had the most  twists. I don’t know if they are doing it to try to cause more drama, or to tire these designers out, or what. This week the designers are told at first they are able to have 2 whole days to do one outrageous outfit to be used in an advertorial in Paris for make-up. But after the first day are then told they have to make a second everyday look that compliments their original. These designers all look so tired. This is the chance of a lifetime, but you don’t have to kill them to do it.

The looks:

April’s: It’s cool…it looks like it was inspired by vampires. The one thing I would say for future challenges is that I hope she chooses color. I think she is showing that she can only do black.

Mondo: I like it, although it does make me think of a confused bee, but I really like his second look.

Ivy: As soon as I saw it I thought: “These are bridesmaid dresses gone wrong.” And what does Michael Kohrs think? The same thing! We are back on the same wave length!

Michael C: I thought his first dress was boring. All one color and way too much with the train. The second look was cute, but I do agree with judges. Pick boobs or legs, not both.

Christopher: I liked his everyday look, but his first dress that came up  was a disaster for me.

Gretchen: It’s obvious why I am not a judge because they all liked her looks, but I did not. I felt like it was a flashback to the 60’s.

Valerie: Both of hers looked liked they were not well made. The second one looked crooked at the top and looked horrible on the model who had a more athletic build. And the white one definitely looked like a pageant dress.

Andy: Again, I am not a professional fashion guru, since the judges loved his look that made me think the model was from outer space.

Out of everyone I picked Mondo to win. And he did. So now he has his drinkin’ money 🙂

I’m glad Ivy is gone. Her attitude was really annoying. Before they told Valerie she was in they were trying to trick us. I don’t know if you all caught that, but they started playing the “decision” music, but of course they let Valerie stay. I don’t know what’s going on with her. She was in the top all the time in the beginning, but she’s in the bottom so much lately. She needs to figure out what’s wrong and turn it around.

The footage of Mondo doing his advertorial was so cute. I loved his little suit and him taking pics with his model. Very special time.

Alright…finally done 1300 words later. Until next time…PEACE OUT!

Quote of the night: “I need some drinkin’ money.” -Mondo
