…up to St. Patty’s Day

Hello everyone! I know, I know. It has been way too long. And I do apologize for that immensely. It has been a crazy week and half. I have had friends coming in and out of town and now life is getting back to normal, whatever that means. For the next few days I will be summarizing what my last week has looked like because it has been an amazing time that definitely made me fall more in love with Austin.

Last Saturday my friend Stef came into town to visit. She goes to TCU, go horny toads, or whatever you are…although I do love that their school color is purple. I am eagerly awaiting some TCU gear in the mail, hint hint, haha. Anyways, so Saturday night we went to downtown with the Cagle’s and Armentrout’s to Pete’s Piano Bar, which is one of my favorite spots. I talked about it before in one of earlier blogs. I love the sing alongs and the atmosphere…if you ever come to visit me and you are over 21 that is one spot you can guarantee we will go.

Sunday was pretty low key. We did church, had our core team meeting, and then Stef wanted to see Twilight at our amazing $1.50 theater…love having a a dollar theater close by.

Monday my friend Ryn from Boston flew into town. It was great to have a friend from high school come out again and see me. Last one was Steve (so excited for Dallas!). We hung out at my apt. and then went to a coffee shop on Lake Austin called Mozarts. Very cool place, but word to the wise, don’t get a steamer. It tasted burnt, like an ashtray, not like I have tasted an ashtray, but if I had I think it would taste like that.

Tuesday Stef, Ryn, and I met the Cagle’s and the Armentrout’s at the Oasis. It is this sweet restaurant that over looks the lake. It is beautiful. The food was alright, but the view definitely made up for it.

After we had lunch Ryn and I drove to Waco, TX. We met some of her family there to have dinner. It ended up being a lot of fun. We got there a little early so we decided to stop by the Dr. Pepper Museum. I picked up some sugar cane Dr. Pepper, not as sweet as I thought it would be, but still good, you just can’t go wrong with Dr. Pepper (that one is for Ryan). Definitely going to go back there for the tour. We then drove around Waco to some different parks by the river. Waco is a cute little old town. Totally thought of Jenna the whole time because I think she would love to take some pics there. Then we drove around Baylor University. It is a beautiful campus and they have live mascots in the middle of their school. It is sweet!

We had dinner at Rudy’s BBQ which is always delicious and then Ryn and I headed back to Austin to pick up Stef and to get Ash and Nick from the airport.

Right when we left the airport we headed to downtown. It was crazy down there for St. Patty’s day. Austin is probably one of the best cities to people watch. It’s great. We made it to this hip coffee shop/bar off 4th called Halcyon. It’s one of my new fav. hangouts. If you come to visit me, no matter what age, I am taking you there. They serve smores:

100_1513So fun! And outside because it was St. Patty’s day there was a U2 cover band. It was great. We made it back home around 2 I think, haha. Good times.

Well, I think I will cut this post off here because it is getting pretty long. It is probably going to take me all week to fill you in on all of last week, but its OK, it is well worth it. Lots of fun! If you want to see more pics of week check out my facebook. Until next time…PEACE OUT!

  1. Sounds like such a fun weekend! I just wish my interview weekend had been during SWSX. But keep your fingers crossed that next year my spring break will line up with some good concerts…
