…where I got to see Slumdog!

I finally made it to the movies on Friday night to see the Oscar winning movie “Slumdog Millionaire.” I have wanted to see the movie since December, but have just not had the opportunity to go. I didn’t think I was going to be able to see it in theaters, but luckily it won 8 Oscar’s, so it is staying in the theater longer. Thank goodness, cause I love the whole theater experience.

I went into this movie expecting a lot since it had gotten so many rave reviews…and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

The way the story was told was beautiful. Here is a short synopsis without giving anything too much away:

Boy goes on millionaire show. He comes from the slums and so half way in after the first taping he has taken to jail because no one believes that he is doing it on his own, they think he is cheating. So, to explain how he knew each of the answers the movie flashback to his childhood to how he learned that fact. There were many hardships in his past and a love for a girl that he had lost and had found more than once.

All of the children who acted in the movie did a phenomenal job. And I heard that they were all from the slums, so since the movie did so well, the movie company bought them all houses. I hope that is true. That would be such an amazing gift for not only them, but their families.

It was definitely a heart wrenching story, but in the end became it heart warming. Movies like this make me want to travel, see the world and help those who are in need. Who’s down to go to India? If you have not gotten a chance to go see this movie I would highly encourage you to. It is well worth it. I give it a 5 out of 5! Until next time…PEACE OUT!
