…where we need to choose a church name.

Hey all! Alright, so tonight we had another core team meeting. We started some training, but a big thing that we are trying to get dialed in is the name for our church. For the past 3 weeks the team has been sending in different names. Tonight we narrowed it down to 7. We are going to add these names to our surveys and begin to ask people what their opinions are. So in trying to get more opinions I am going to put them up here and ask for some of your feedback as well. I would greatly appreciate it.

Picking a name is definitely harder than it seems. There is a lot that has to go into it. You have to make sure there are no other churches in the immediate area with the same name. Also,Β  since we are a missional church we want to make sure that non-Christians would be interested in coming and not put off by it. One church plant that we know of asked the public about church names, and the one that they really liked and were leaning toward sounded like a cult to non-Christians, so that was very eye opening.

Here are our top 7 in no particular order:

So, until next time…PEACE OUT!

PS Sorry this looks weird. I tried to center it, but everything I tried did not work. Its bothering me just a little πŸ™‚

  1. Danielle! Oh my gosh I love the Friends theme…Kayla, Bry, and I are obsessed with that show and Kay and I just watched some episodes today actually haha. But anyway I love reading your blog (I voted for Encounter Bible Church…because at Winter Camp the devotion time was called Encounter πŸ˜‰ and talking to you on facebook πŸ™‚ I miss and love you!!

  2. I refuse to call it anything except for Shadowrock. Definitely not Elevation though. I like RRBC and Rock Point and Rock CC. But I still won’t vote because I’m sticking with Shadowrock. Two of my friends picked Round Rock Bible Church and Diamond point or Rock Community. Peace out.

  3. I like Rock Pointe and elevation but when push came to shove I went with rock pointe. That is wierd how the name can really make a difference…who would have known?

    Have a great day!

  4. Hey there! Ryan B. blogged about your church plant. I am part of a church plant in Katy (just west of Houston). We will be praying for you guys! Austin is an awesome town! I may have to come visit you guys. My dad lives in Lakeway, just outside of Austin.
