…where I get my first assignments

Well…from the look at my title’s you can see that I have chosen a new name. I am going to go with a theme that my good friend Ryan suggested. Most of you should know that I love the show “Friends.” I own all the seasons, I have a coffee mug, plate (B made for me:-)), cookbook, and I even have a picture frame around my peep hole in my door. It kind of sounds pathetic, but what can I say, when I love something, I really love it.

So to better explain my titles (for those of you who are not avid fans like me), in the show “Friends” all of the episodes are titled “The One…” and then something from the episode. One of my favorites is “The One with the Pediatrician.” It’s in season 9. I am kind of partial to this one because it is the one that I got to go watch the taping of! Anyways, that’s the story.

OK, now onto my actual post. Yesterday Josh and I finally met to talk about what some of my responsibilities and duties are going to be for the next couple of weeks. The main assignment: FIND SOME FRIENDS.

This is harder than it may seem for some of you. I am an outgoing person, but it usually takes me some time to open up to people. I can be a little shy at first. So an attitude adjustment is in order. I am going to hit it head on and hopefully meet some great people. Although it will be hard for them to live up to the great friends I already have 🙂

Now I am trying to find venues to meet people. First, I am going to go to a young adult Bible study on Thursday nights (I didn’t go last night because I went to a home decor party instead. And I won two prizes). Second, there is a website called “Meetup.com”(you should check it out, it’s pretty cool). The site has groups that meet throughout your city that you can join, so I am going to check two of those out. And third I am going to try and find somewhere to do some volunteer work.

I will keep you updated with how all this goes. I have more to say, but I don’t want to make my posts too long. I know everyone is busy and most Americans have the attention span of a two year old 🙂 Thanks for checking in. And until next time…PEACE OUT!

  1. Love the blog Danielle. I saw your tweet. Don’t let Josh tell you what to do.:)

I know you will find some really great friends that will be changed because you’re in their life.

I just heard today that they are going to open a Mighty Fine Burgers over by Ikea. It will give In and Out a run for the money.

It’s soooooooo awesome. It’s almost the best reason for planting a church over there:)

Glad to see you made it to Texas intact. I hope you enjoy the adventure!

  2. Tyler…I have been meaning to facebook you. Thanks for the encouragement. I have seen the Mighty Fine Burger sign there by Ikea. Someone told me April I think. But I still haven’t been to one, so I need to go. Hopefully I will get a chance to see you and the fam soon.

Ryan: I think I am going to do the board game one, and this one where 20 somethings go out on the town.

Steve: True, it would be even better if you end up living here!
